OKTOBERFEST 2011

UPDATE: Saturday (the 1st of October) is officially the last day of Oktoberfest 2011, so we are throwing another party to mark the day! We will be tapping a special fest keg at 1pm and have a traditional Oktoberfest menu till 5pm, with the full Suppenküche menu after that. If you can’t make the party, don’t worry, we will still be pouring the best Oktoberfest Biers all the way through Halloween and beyond.

Saturday September 17th marked the official start of this years Oktoberfest. We kicked it off with Bier specials, roast ckickens, pork kunckles, new T- shirts, giant pretzels and more …

2011 TOUR DE FRANCE

It is time again for the biggest bike race on the planet … Le Tour De France. To honor this epic event we have, once again, displayed our peloton of swallows and cycling butterflies (a vignette for each of the 4 leaders jerseys). Click on the graphic above to see.

FIRE BREAKFAST

To help celebrate our 18 years as a restaurant Suppenküche hosted a Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association benefit ham and eggs breakfast. Why “Fire Breakfast”?: As the story goes the great fire that engulfed San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake was started by accident in Hayes Valley, the result of cooking ham and eggs with a damaged chimney. This time we cooked and ate outside. Thank you to everyone that helped to make it happen.
