2016 BEERWEEK MOVIE BLASTERS

This year we have access to the PROXY Walk-in Theater in Hayes Valley. So we hooked up with our friends at Fort Point Beer Co. and are happy to bring you two free movies right in the middle of a great “week” of beer! Get ready for:

Monday January 25th 6pm:
The Big Lebowski

Tuesday January 26th 6pm:
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

And, duh …
This is Beerweek. All four Fort Point canned brews will be avaliable during the show(s). Extra special thanks to PROXY and the Hayes Valley neighborhood for putting a movie theater in a vacant lot.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN / TIME WARP

This year’s Halloween night will see both Suppenküche and Biergarten closed for
business. Stay safe, have fun, we will see everyone back in action for brunch and
afternoon Biergartening the next day! Then >> time warp …
… Adjust your relationship to the concept of time. Per the dictate of our regional
overlords we will be adjusting our timepieces to the mandated perceptual convention:
It’s “daylight savings time” – as such the Biergarten will shift into winter
hours mode, that’s right:

After Nov. 1st.
BIERGARTEN WINTER HOURS
2pm – 8pm Wednesday – Saturday
Sunday is still 1pm-7pm

OKTOBERFEST + THANK YOU HAYES VALLEY

Another Oktoberfest season is full upon us. With this we have even more wonderful news: The temporary “experiment” that is the Biergarten will continue to exist into the year twothousandtwentyone. With help from our freinds and neighbors the PROXY project continues in the heart of Hayes Valley.

GNOME WEEK 2015

OKTOBERFEST IS IN SEPTEMBER: 2015

Notice:
Saturday Sept. 19th:

Join us for a special party – on this day in Munich, at noon, Bavarians tap some kegs of beer (and behave themselves for the next weeks). That marks the beginning of a celebration called Oktoberfest. It began as a combination royal wedding feast, horse race, regional brewing showcase and harvest festival. Now the Munich tradition has become the largest party in Europe (perhaps beyond) …

This year we have done our best to bring the energy to Hayes Valley. We now disclose a secretly planned one day outdoor “pop-up” Oktoberfest(ival) planned with our friends at PROXY and Kloster Andechs (among others). We tap keg(s) at noon (not Munich time) on Saturday the 19th of September at the PROXY public lot on the corner of Hayes and Octavia. Delicious Andechs Fest bier on tap(ssss), special event keepsake drinking vessels, wristbands, bier tickets, t-shirts, music, Giant Oktoberfest pretzels, Casey’s Pizza and neighborhood fun times with Juice Shop, Ritual Coffee, Streets of San Francisco Bike Tours, Aether Apparel, Basic Training and Smitten Ice Cream. Tis the season.

BIERGARTEN follows up with a regular opening time: 3:00pm for more super Oktoberfest specials and lots of sausage and more bier.

Then SUPPENKÜCHE at 5:00pm for the deep Oktoberfest flavor. Don’t miss it. And you won’t, because Oktoberfest lasts much longer than one day. Pork Knuckle!

DON'T PANIC

DON’T PANIC

Stuff is happening at our Biergarten in Hayes Valley:

Sunday May 18: CLOSED for “Bay to Breakers” run.

The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

RESTAURANT AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE

… is one of the the most extraordinary ventures in the entire history of catering. It is built on the fragmented remains of an eventually ruined planet which is enclosed in a vast time bubble and projected forward in time to the precise moment of the End of the Universe.
This is, many would say, impossible.
You can arrive for any seating you like without prior reservation because you can book retrospectively, as it were, when you return to your own time.
This is, many would now insist, absolutely impossible.
At the Restaurant you can meet and dine with a fascinating cross-section of the entire population of space and time.
This, it can be explained patiently, is also impossible.
You can visit as many times as you like and be sure of never meeting yourself, because of the embarrassment this usually causes.
This, even if the rest were true, which it isn’t, is patently impossible, say the doubters.
All you have to do is deposit one penny in a savings account in your own era, and when you arrive at the End of Time the operation of compound interest means that the fabulous cost of your meal has been paid for.
This, many claim, is not merely impossible but clearly insane, which is why the advertising executives of the star system of Bastablon came up with this slogan:
“If you’ve done six impossible things this morning, why not round it off with breakfast at Milliways, the Restaurant at the End of the Universe?”

Suppenküche is now 22 YEARS OLD
Birthday-Costume-Dance-Party:
THURSDAY
MAY 14TH
5:00PM

This years party theme comes from the Douglas Adams sci-fi classic

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another which states that this has already happened.”

Our regular dinner service is cancelled and the Biergarten is closed – we have special food, bier, music, limited-edition T-shirts and more. As always, everyone is welcome to the costume party. Get creative, share some fun and drink with us to the next twentytwo(billion) years!

The fifth annual Ham & Eggs Fire*Brunch

BIERGARTEN
SATURDAY MAY 16 2015
NOON

* As the story goes the great fire that engulfed San Francisco just after the 1906 earthquake began by accident in Hayes Valley – the result of preparing a Breakfast of ham and eggs over a cook-stove with a damaged chimney. In honor of this unique history our Valley takes time in May to come together to build a stronger neighborhood and eat brunch.
